I recently revisited this place, and it looks like they listened to prior complaints and finally improved their waitlist system! Now you just wait in line to order at the counter and seat yourself. I got the same smoked salmon tartine, which still tastes just as good. Menu items are all $1-2 more expensive than they were last year, but that's not much of a surprise. I'm interested in coming back to try the dinner menu!

I savored the smoked salmon Tartine, which was deliciously fresh, flavorful with a crunchy toast. The omelette was perfectly cooked, and the bread pudding was a sweet delight. Despite the 20-minute wait for a table, the exceptional food and great vibes made it absolutely worthwhile. You can also order more things from your table after your initial order.

I love going to Tartine for pastries and baked goods in the morning. This was my first time going for dinner and it lived up to expectations! The service and ambience were great. I love the little Tartine Pizza sign by the bar which was an indicator that the pizza was going to be the star of the show. We ordered the chopped summer corn salad which was crunchy and fresh. I was already getting a little full but held out for the pizza which looked incredible. We got the pepper & chorizo pizza which was tasted so unique. It was saucy, sweet, and spicy. The combination made every bite taste a little different and interesting. 10/10 would come again!

This is a cute causal spot. I got an egg sandwich and coffee, which were both good. Service is good. I had to leave in the middle and they helped me pack up. I'd be down to come back to try other options... maybe not with the same guest that I came with. (Lol, unrelated to the restaurant).

Sadly, we're spending the Fourth of July over at the vet and there is quite a long wait. While sitting in the car, I noticed a Tartine one minute walk away I had the summer salad with the most delicious tender juicy chicken. And my husband had the brisket hash the little round peppers and brisket are beyond. Super tasty. Probably my favorite brunch dish here now. Super friendly staff I was invited to sit down while I waited for my to go order, which I know isn't always possible When they're having a rush, but I took them up on their offer to see their service firsthand as I sat right across from the food coming out of the kitchen. There's also a place outside, but it was fairly congested of folks waiting for that to go orders, good news is DoorDash. I saw a few DoorDash delivery drivers pick up food, I hadn't realized that there was one so close we will definitely DoorDashIng

Finally got to try out the pizza at Tartine! It lived up to the hype and I really enjoyed their chewy doughy sourdough We also got their bread and corn salad to start which was lovely and fresh! Also rlly enjoyed their tartine spritz too and they had some other unique cocktails (such as a morning bun old fashioned). Definitely worth a visit for dinner to try out their salads and pizzas.

I usually get the country sourdough loaf togo, but finally had it in house on a rainy morning and OMG - it was heaven on earth! Soo fresh and tasty. Crust was crunchy and inside had a great chew. We also ordered a couple pastries to share: Pain au chocolate: good, but nothing special. Would skip this next time Morning bun: nice hint of orange zest. Babka: delicious! This was a last min add and so glad we got it. Well balanced and not too sweet You order first then find a table. We didn't notice there were plates, to go containers, and water glasses off to the side until an employee pointed it out to us. Can't wait to come back for more sourdough bread and babka!

Really enjoyed brunch at Tartine! You place your as your enter and can see all the baked goods. I ordered the Brisket Hash ($21) it was definitely on the heavier side! A lot of meat compared to potatoes. Also had the Morning Bun latte - it was good and sweet but the syrup was super thick. Service was great! There was plenty of staff, cleaning up and providing excellent service. They also have QR codes on your table number if you forgot to order anything and they will bring it to your table. Can't wait to go back when I'm in town!

TLDR: Yes, you really do have to try the bread here! My personal take on the sweets -- definitely get one of their non-pastry desserts (the banana cream tart was so unique and insanely good), but I've had better pastries elsewhere. ------ FOOD: 1. Avo Toast + egg (5/5) - Not your average avocado toast. This had such a unique and kind of intense flavor that I really liked. The egg was admittedly hard to eat with the toast though and the toast was already complex enough that it didn't need the extra flavor from an egg. You can probably skip the extra toppings and let the flavor of the toast and seasoning come through. 2. Banana Cream Tart (5/5) - WOW. It was calling our names from the second we saw it in the display case. It's really big (the size of my whole hand), and the cream filling inside is also full of sliced bananas, not just banana flavoring. I would come back just for this. 3. Cardamom citrus danish (3/5) - I'm probably a little harsh since I have an incredibly high bar for pastries. The pastry dough wasn't too flakey, and the actual cream part in the middle was quite thin so it wasn't as satisfying as it could have been. Again, it's a unique flavor so points for that, but I wouldn't get this again. ------ SERVICE: * You wait in line to order at the register just inside the building. Then you take your number and sit at any of the many tables inside. Someone will bring your food to you. * Expect to wait in line for ~30-45 minutes at peak lunch time, but honestly at 11 am the line isn't bad at all so would recommend you come around then. * Besides someone bringing you food, the utensils, water, and plates are all self-serve ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * It's truly a HUGE building / manufactory where you can see how the bread making process is done in the back. On a sunny day, sunlight streams through the windows and it's gorgeous * There are a lot of people here, so I can see how seating can actually be a problem if you come at the wrong time. We got the last table but there were lots of people in line after us... * Heath ceramics is right around the corner and is the perfect place to browse after lunch if you like to walk after a meal * Otherwise, there actually isn't that much else to do or see in this area of the Mission * Lots of street parking outside Tartine! Of course, it's more limited during peak meal times.

Overall great experience! This place always has a line but don't worry it moves fast! A lot of seating and gorgeous interior. Smoked Salmon tartine was a overall great choice when coming here it is very fresh and light the flavors mix well and it has a slight sweetness to it Pressed ham and Gruyère was an accident I meant to get the croissant but I still enjoyed the sandwich it has a definite kick to it with the fresh jalapeño The sweet scone and morning bun were both fantastic I do agree with some of the other reviewers that it is overrated BUT it doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a go it. The bread at tartine is absolutely phenomenal I recommend taking some home :)!
